Hate to do this in this way, as it seems impersonal, but I have to kind of "do what I can" at this point.
I hope you are all well.  I wanted to send an update and say THANK YOU for all the calls,  cards, flowers, thoughts, prayers, giggles, etc. that I have been
receiving.

I'm feeling stronger each day and I think it was a good idea to have the blood transfused before I left. (Mom said my lips were white...she didn't know I'd be nipping on Milk of Magnesia! LOL!)
My mom is still here with me and has been SUCH a tremendous help. I  could not be here in the capacity that I am without her and Wayne. As far as my progress goes, this is a little more tough than I
thought, but HEY! IT'S SURGERY!! I'm hanging in pretty great I think.

I taking care of my own bathing, by sitting and doing
cat baths.  (Tripod and Izzy are NOT one bit happy about having to lick soap off of my feet, but
hey!  They're cats!!  Should have found healthier owners! LOL! Warped sense of humor, sadly, appears left totally in tact.)
I have also washed my own hair over the kitchen sink, with my mom standing  watch right next to me.
I'm making what seems like thousands of laps up and down the hallway on my crutches! I still have plenty of restrictions as far as sitting, etc. which can be confining, so that's not fun. I'm kind of banished to
our master bedroom and bath. I'll look forward to getting to get out  to the porch and sit there and look at nature and this beautiful farm.

My surgery was one week ago tomorrow!!! I am SO thankful it is now BEHIND ME and I'm on the mend with the support and love of the best bunch of friends
anyone could EVER imagine. Wayne and I have been moved and humbled to tears so many times through this...and we love you all...each and every one.

Forgive us when we cannot get to the phone, or return a call in a timely manner...we're trying to make this all work around here. It seems that just when I get to
the place I'm ready to bathe, the phone will ring and I cannot get up and go get it....I wasn't TOO coordinated BEFORE this surgery...add crutches and a hip
replacement to the mix...and that's not a tasty recipe! ROFL!

Seriously, we are all doing the very best we can. With odd hours, strange things that have to happen
at certain times, etc. it just gets us all out of sorts with 'real time and reality." Just know that this will all be behind us soon...and we're going to have one more fun get together out here to celebrate!!!

Feel free to email too...I have loved reading and hearing from you guys!!!! I'll surely reply as I can.

Lots of love to you all,
Annie
