Summer 2005
Wow...that is still odd to me to write "2005!"
Summer is shaping up nicely...and here's what I'd like to share
about my summer so far!
I just finished Ocrafolk 2005 and it was a total success. So, for
this newsletter, I will talk mostly about my experience with this
festival...and of course, what's upcoming for me this summer.
Anne hamming it up with Gary Mitchell
and others at Ocrafolk. This was, I believe, my 6th performance at that festival and it just
gets better and better. The fans return again and again and I have
made so many new friends from this festival each year.
It's funny how you "see" someone from a stage perspective, they come
up and chat for a minute after a show and that is that. Then a whole
year later, there they are again...all smiles, thrilled to see you
and eager to enjoy great music. It's those kinds of fans that make
my heart soar!
I have several I'd like to say HI to! Mike and JoAnn out of South
Carolina have become my pals. They are precious people and are just
crazy enough to come see me each year. Then there's Eric and Asha
Wolf from Chattanooga, TN who drove over for the festival. They had
a copy (bootlegged from a relative of mine of course!) of
"It's A Beautiful Life" and listened to it during their honeymoon
trip. This sounds bizarre, but they apparently covered some big
territory (about 15,000 miles) across our great country, listening
to IABL...and stayed married! Go figure! I was moved to tears upon
meeting them.
I am always so thrilled to hear from fans, how my songs affect them
or their lives, etc. but to get to meet folks in person is just so
great. MY VERY BEST WISHES FOR YOU ERIC AND ASHA! You're terrific!
Let's see...other friends I have made directly from this festival
who have now become a true presence in my life are Martha and Gene
Myers from Virginia and Brenda Campbell from Carolina Beach. I have
stories tucked safely in my heart from each of these folks who have
become so precious to me.
I want to thank from the bottom of my heart ANNE TREVVETT AT
BLACKBEARD'S LODGE ON OCRACOKE FOR THE EXCELLENT ACCOMODATION,
ATTENTIVENESS AND FRIENDSHIP! YOU GUYS AT BLACKBEARD'S SPOIL ME

This summer, my performances will be few, as I will be in the studio
going great guns. But, do keep in mind my concert performances in
Oriental this fall. GET TICKETS QUICK...THEY ARE SELLING OUT SO FAST
I CAN'T KEEP UP! I will be audio'ing and perhaps video'ing those
shows to be put together as a CD/and/or DVD set. I'll keep you
posted as the summer progresses.
In summation, as always, I want to thank you, the reader for being
here at my site. Thank you for allowing me to share my life's work
and passion with you. I cannot tell you how humbling and amazing it
is for me to look at all your faces while I'm singing...and see you
singing word for word, note for note...right along with me. That's
something that leaves me at a total loss for words! And we all know
how unusual that is! Thank you for supporting live music, original
music and for coming to visit with me! Can't wait to see you
somewhere out there again!
